Part-Time Position: Flexible Hours (Approximately 5-10 Hours Weekly). No holidays or weekends required
Primary Function:
Provides direct occupational therapy services, and consultation to staff, patient and family and seeks additional supervision/consultation from qualified occupational therapist as needed. Provides in-service to agency staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:Provides occupational therapy to any patient served by the agency in accordance with a physician's order.Instructs patients' family members and health team personnel concerning the patient's therapy program and its maintenance.Evaluates patients to determine functional level and establish a therapeutic program.Integrates the occupational therapy plan for the patient with the patient's overall care plan.Observes, records and reports to the physician, the patient's reaction to treatment, the treatment program and changes in the patient resulting from the program.Assists the patient to procure needed equipment or supplies.Maintains accurate and timely records and reports.Provides consultation to the Director of Home Care regarding program planning, policy development and priority setting.Participates with the agency team in periodic case review and evaluation of the patient care program.Provides in-service education and consultation to the staff in areas related to occupational therapy.Maintains current knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice through attendance at workshops and in-services.Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.Must be registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association.Must have at least on year of clinical experience.
