Job Summary St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pa is recruiting a full time BC/BE Child Abuse Pediatrician to join the hospitals Child Protection Program. The Child Protection Program was established in 2004 to provide comprehensive medical evaluations for suspected victims of abuse within the greater Philadelphia area. Current staff members include two board certified child abuse pediatricians, a dedicated social worker, nurse, and support staff. Each year, this program provides hundreds of medical evaluations for suspected cases of physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect. These multidisciplinary evaluations occur in the inpatient setting, outpatient clinics, as well as the citys regional Child Advocacy Center. The team works closely with local investigators to ensure timely communication of the medical findings with each case. The program is committed towards educating trainees as well as medical students, residents, and fellows in the region. Prospective candidates should have a vested interest in program development and education. The pediatrician joining the staff will receive appointment at Drexel University College of Medicine, the hospitals academic affiliate.
