Job Summary

The Systems Senior Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, is a key role that is responsible for the month-end close process, reconciliations, variance analysis, audits, automation and process efficiency creation through SAP FICO initiatives, and other ad-hoc projects. This role also serves as liaison to IT to drive process improvement.

Essential FunctionsPrimary responsibilities include the monthly and quarterly closing process for related company financial statements, including providing direct oversight to general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations of judgmental and/or complex balance sheet and income statements accounts.Owns initiatives to improve and create new processes where applicable, to optimize and standardize our global accounting function.Works cross functionally with those in other areas, such as Manufacturing Accounting, Global Business Services, Analytical Finance, Information Technology, Treasury and Tax, to co-ordinate process improvements that result in more effective and efficient monthly and quarterly close processes.Responsible for leading both routine and complex accounting requirements, including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations utilizing BlackLine, analysis of activities and reporting. Execution and continuous improvement of the monthly COPA assessment process, various judgmental accruals and reserves, as well as assistance with other important close activities.Assists and provides cross functional support, guidance and escalation management of activities from our internal business partners.Takes ownership and drives completion of other activities and processes critical to monthly close including but not limited to automated jobs.Maintain relevant documentation to ensure streamlined support and knowledge transfer between associates & external partners.Provide business expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and/or procedures to meet end-user needs.Other duties and projects as assigned.Education, Experience and Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting systems or related field3-5+ years experience in accounting, systems, finance, SOX compliance and treasury in an SAP ERP environment.Advanced written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects with minimal supervisionTeam player with proven ability to lead and manage projectsAble to work in a dynamic, fast paced, informal and rapidly changing business environment
