Warehouse Material Handler/Bander - Second Shift

Smith Stair Systems, and Novo Direct.Just as our products are used to build something new and inspire others to make living spaces more beautiful, we endeavor to impact the people and communities we touch every day positively.Position SummaryMaterial Handler - Bander will be responsible to band material and prepare for staging and shipping. They will need to have great attention to detail and the ability to work within set timelines. The Material Handler - Bander will need to demonstrate the ability to work safely and efficiently to ensure is safe for transport.Schedule Monday - Friday2:30 - 11 p.m.Pay $17.50/hr. Essential ResponsibilitiesEnsures all orders are organized, leveled, and tightly built for transport.Bands material, safely using equipment provided to secure materials for shipment.Labels banded carts ensuring accuracy of units, destination, handler, etc.Sustains a clean work area by sweeping, rebinding loose bundles, keeps dust collector clean, etc. to prepare for the next shift.Communicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with Supervisor.Complies with all company policies and procedures.May be required to successfully pass PIT training while following all safety requirements established within Novo.Performs other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications (Required)Must be 18 years of age or older.Effectively performs all essential functions, including physical requirements.Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skillsUse of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards. and maintaining a safe work environment Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights.Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in distribution or manufacturing environmentTravel RequirementsNo travel requirements Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.100%: Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp.80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment.10%: Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending, or twisting.May Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.Why Work with Us?We offer competitive wages, shift premiums, and health benefits.
