Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and detail-oriented Permanent Senior Field Safety Representative to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring our construction projects are carried out in strict compliance with safety standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Cal-OSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations, and a strong background in construction safety. This role requires extensive fieldwork, including conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and implementing preventative safety measures.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site safety inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including Cal-OSHA, OSHA, and DOT.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Train and mentor site personnel on safety protocols, practices, and procedures to foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters, including liaising with regulatory agencies, internal stakeholders, and external contractors.
- Continually assess potential hazards and develop strategies to eliminate or mitigate risks.
- Prepare and present safety performance reports to management, identifying trends and proposing improvements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cal-OSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
- Proven experience in conducting safety inspections and investigations.
- Strong understanding of the principles and practices of injury and illness prevention.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor others.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
