Establish proactive, agile, data-driven and portfolio-minded organizational marketing to attain sales and profitability goals. Collaborate with Cox Business retail and carrier product, strategy, customer experience, and sales teams in addition to the rest of the Commercial business unit executive team to initiate and respond to external challenges and opportunities. This leader will evaluate the effectiveness of commercial marketing programs. Plans, coordinates, recommends, and executes promotion strategies for new and existing services that achieve maximum penetration and buy rates consistent with short and long-term objectives and budgets. This position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and will maintain tight alignment and coordination across the Commercial business unit and other partner entity marketing leaders, including RapidScale, Segra, OpenGov and Cox Communities.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :Strategic Leadership: Direct marketing strategies that support integrated business and product offerings, collaborating with the executive team on long-term managed IT services and cloud strategies. Foster an agile, portfolio-minded marketing organization with strong B2B leadership experience.Thought Leadership: Establish and enhance a marketing sciences organization focused on analyzing customer behaviors and market trends, ensuring excellence in ongoing customer segmentation. Collaborate with CCI Commercial and Residential marketing center of excellence teams (Brand, Creative, Advanced Analytics, Customer Insights, Media, Digital, and Events) to maximize marketing effectiveness and modernize marketing technology use across CCI.Go-to-Market Strategy: In partnership with commercial sales leaders, develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, ensuring effective execution of marketing campaigns founded in a mature and agile SMB and Mid-Market Value Proposition, leveraging the foundational Residential Unified Value Proposition work effort and achieving ROI goals.Cox and Commercial Services Story: Ensure that the Cox Commercial services narrative as well as the broader Cox story is clearly articulated and effectively communicated across the organization. Own ongoing creation, refinement, and adoption of the broader Cox and Commercial services story.Product Strategy: Ensure products and services align with customer needs and maximize growth potential. Work proactively and collaboratively with Product Management and Development to integrate customer insights and customer experience excellence expectations into product ideation.Customer Strategy: Proactively create and implement customer value management strategies to enhance acquisition and retention, leveraging detailed customer segmentation and refining ideal customer profiles as the portfolio evolves. Ensure campaigns and messaging anticipate evolving customer demands, maintaining a holistic and customer-centric approach.Growth Alignment: Align marketing initiatives with growth priorities across the Cox Business and the Commercial business unit portfolio, facilitating comprehensive customer growth while ensuring effective top-of-funnel attraction and high close rates across key channels, including digital.Budget & Resource Management: Oversee the preparation of annual marketing operating and capital budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and effective expenditure management to support customer growth and retention. Oversee resource allocation to ensure effective use of marketing systems and vendor relationships. Advocate for simplified products, customer experience factors, and customer-oriented product/offer naming conventions.Performance Metrics: Identify and track key performance metrics to uncover market opportunities and measure success, leveraging the CB Data Foundation and AI capabilities to enhance decision-making.Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships within the organization and with external partners, including suppliers and industry leaders. Collaborate with sales, customer experience, product, and finance teams to strategically align customer value management driven pricing and campaign creation.Team Development: Provide strong leadership and career development for the Cox Business and Commercial business unit marketing teams, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.Campaign Execution: Ensure maximum agility and expediency of decision making/approvals for content and other external materials. Leverage AI for the ongoing creation of content using Cox owned and approved assets, reducing/eliminating dependency on 3rd party expertise. Further ensure the successful execution of all marketing campaigns and programs, while tracking marketing ROI. Share best practices across the broader CB marketing team to leverage capabilities more effectively.Event Management: Oversee customer hosting assets and internal event planning, including the Commercial Services Leadership Summit, ensuring all B2B sponsorships deliver value and are financially supported.CRITICAL SUCCESS MEASURES :Commercial Portfolio Revenue and Margin targetsCore Cox Business total retail, SMB, digital customer acquisition and revenue targetsMarketing ROICustomer ExperienceQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of relevant B2B marketing experience, or Masters degree with 12 years of relevant B2B marketing experience, or Ph.D. with 9 years of relevant B2B marketing experience.At least 7 years of business-to-business leadership experience, preferably within the technology ecosystem, telecom industry not mandatory.Extensive knowledge and experience in marketing, business development, market research, promotions, product marketing, digital, marketing technology, and marketing communications.Proven ability to identify long-term trends while effectively managing day-to-day tactical initiatives that drive business growth.Strong inclination to analyze issues and opportunities, think proactively, and respond swiftly to market threats and prospects.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.About UsCox Communications is all about creating moments of real human connection; and for employees, that’s true both in the workplace and in the problems we solve for customers.
