Director of Human Resources

plans, coordinates, and supervises all personnel services to attract and retain quality staff, enhance morale, improve operational efficiency, and maximize the educational benefits to our students and the community. The Director is responsible for participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of personnel-related programs, policies, and services, as well as contract negotiations for all bargaining units. The Director of Human Resources reports to the Superintendent of Schools and supervises and evaluates the Substitute Coordinator, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinators, and the Human Resources Executive Assistant.DUTIES:Works cooperatively with principals, directors, and coordinators in anticipating and planning for all personnel needs in the school system;Plans and directs a program for recruitment, selection, assignment, and retention of all professional and support staff;Serves as Title II and Title IX coordinator for employee issues. Manages employee relations issues, and facilitates the resolution of problems;Responsible for job classifications under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA);Recommends all transfers, assignments, non-renewals, dismissals, and promotions;Provides oversight for district compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding teacher licensure and endorsements;Updates job descriptions as duties and responsibilities evolve;Provides background data and analysis for, and participates in, contract negotiations with collective bargaining groups and non-unit personnel and serves as a member of the district team in negotiations;Ensures legal compliance in all personnel-related areas;Coordinates staff training and legal notifications as mandated by state and federal law;Oversees the payroll process and personnel, with input from the Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations;Oversees the benefits process and personnel;Performs other duties as directed by the Superintendent of Schools.QUALIFICATIONS:Licensed as PHR or SPHR by the SHRM or Human Resources Certification Institute;Master's Degree in Human Resources, Management, or a related field preferred;Successful administrative leadership experience;Demonstrated skill in conflict resolution, negotiations, and labor relations, as well as expertise in diversity and equity;Demonstrated ability in staff recruitment, selection, supervision, and evaluation;Other comparable qualifications as the Superintendent may deem appropriate.Online is our preferred method of application; however, if you wish to apply by mail, please download and print the appropriate application form on our website:
