Position Information

Title: Marketing Coordinator

Division/Office: University Communication & Marketing

Full Time, Non-Exempt

This position does not qualify for remote work.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Vice President of University Communications & Marketing (UCM).

Position Summary

Chaminade University of Honolulu is searching for a motivated and talented individual to join its team. This individual will assist in a range of marketing and communication activities to fulfill the University Communication & Marketing division’s charge of actively disseminating relevant and engaging information to its identified constituencies. An ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who is team-oriented and genuinely enjoys a broad range of responsibilities in a 100% in-person business environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Duties (80%):

Responsible for the administrative maintenance of the University’s website, including making editorial and design revisions and coordinating communication between various departments.

Assist in the sustained coordination of email communications through the University’s selected third-party CRM platforms.

Actively monitor and respond to all project inquiries for the division.

Assist the Vice President of University Communications & Marketing in administrative duties such as scheduling and coordinating division meetings and initiatives.

Assist Multimedia & Social Media Specialist in the photo and/or video capture of University events for marketing and media use.

Provide administrative support in scheduling, scanning and recording division activities (i.e. marketing collateral).

Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the University’s marketing campaigns via traditional and digital media advertising.

Update and maintain various data sets for the University’s marketing campaign databases.

Develop and/or update report and presentation files for campus meetings and events.

Collaborate with Multimedia & Social Media Specialist to produce content and respond to communications requests within the University’s institutional social media channels.

Coordinate the timely updates of the University’s brand guidelines including Google Drive templates, logo utilization, and project request scheduling.

Draft written communications for division correspondence and/or campaigns in collaboration with the Vice President and/or designated team lead.

Provide administrative support to achieve department objectives and create meaningful content based on university priorities.

Responsible for the collection of materials for division’s administrative reporting.

Distribute identified University media events and campus news stories to business partners, media, and community organizations.

Attend identified university events for news gathering and/or coverage.

Secondary Duties (20%):

Research and connect with national news feeds when appropriate, reviewing the higher education environment for best practices and incorporating them into the university’s communications.

Actively monitor website content, including writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking.

Deliver content via email campaigns using third-party platforms.

Responsible for soliciting, securing, and interviewing appropriate stakeholders.

Manage the University’s social media platforms during emergencies using sound judgment and strategic practices.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, English, Communications, Marketing or a directly related field AND two (2) years of demonstrated work experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and education.

Knowledge & Skills:

Results-oriented, enthusiastic, resourceful, and creative with a can-do attitude.

Experience with content management systems (CMS), especially WordPress.

Strong creative problem-solving skills.

Collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities in an ever-changing environment.

Ability to meet deadlines consistently, particularly those requiring quick turnaround.

Adaptable, able to work independently and across teams.

Good judgment and sound decision-making skills.

Demonstrated attention to detail for accuracy of information.

Organized, self-directed, and self-disciplined.

Willingness to work during non-standard hours for university events.

Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office and community setting, requiring a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity and be able to communicate information effectively.

Other Requirements

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule, but additional hours or schedule changes may be required based on project cycles.

Performs similar, comparable, or related duties as assigned.

Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.

Expected to adhere to all University policies while employed.
