About Us:

Greater Essex Counseling Services is a co-occurring OP/IOP treatment facility licensed by the State of New Jersey. We provide treatment opportunities in both English and Spanish. Greater Essex was established by a mother-daughter team who had a vision to bring hope and rehabilitation to individuals suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders. The vision turned into a reality in 2009 when they opened a Substance Abuse Treatment facility in the heart of Downtown Newark with a second location in Union City, NJ. Greater Essex's Mission is to provide professional, comprehensive care to those who suffer from substance use disorder as well as patients suffering from co-occurring disorders. We strive to create and maintain an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. We have successfully created an environment that values, respects, and upholds diversity. We serve clients transitioning from a life of impoverishment and/or incarceration back into the community.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Clinical Director to lead our dedicated team of clinicians and support staff at Greater Essex Counseling Services. The Clinical Director will be responsible for overseeing all clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and promoting a supportive and therapeutic environment for clients with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Includes health benefits and vacation time.

Responsibilities:

Provide clinical oversight and guidance to a multidisciplinary team of counselors, therapists, and support staff.

Develop and implement evidence-based treatment protocols for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

Collaborate with the executive team to assess and enhance existing programs and develop new initiatives to meet the evolving needs of clients.

Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards and regulations.

Engage in active hiring practices for clinical staff.

Provide clinical trainings to staff, ensuring ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.

Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical documentation to maintain compliance with best practices, regulations, and accreditation standards.

Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of clinical services.

Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders, including community partners, referral sources, and regulatory agencies.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client care.

Attend community events as a representative of our facility.

Advocate for the needs and rights of clients within the organization and in the broader community.

Ensure that client feedback is considered in program development and improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or similar licensure with ACS and CCS required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical leadership roles within substance abuse and co-occurring treatment settings.

Thorough understanding of evidence-based practices and treatment modalities for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with relevant accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the provision of mental health services.

Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
