Job Title: Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Job Specialty: Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Job Duration: 1-week assignment Shift: Day - 5x8 - 09:00AM - 05:00PM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified; preferred proficiency in general GI procedures License: Current Active PA license required Certifications: - Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible within 5 years of Residency through the American Board of Internal Medicine, Subspecialty of Gastroenterology- Fellowship Trained in Gastroenterology- BLS Certification required Must-Have: - Experience with all general GI procedures - Ability to manage 5-10 inpatient consults per day while on-call for inpatient service- Specialty skills in various endoscopy procedures and preferred skills in ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound- Willing to provide call and clinic coverage Job Description: - Provide call and clinic coverage as per the schedule: Call is 5 PM-5 PM, Clinic hours are 8-4.- Required to perform all general gastrointestinal procedures.- Handle inpatient consults, estimated at 5-10 per day, only while on-call for inpatient service.- Demonstrate specialty skills in the following areas: - Upper GI endoscopy procedures, including biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder - Injection of varices during endoscopy - Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for ERCP (preferred) - PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) - Esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation - Small Bowel and Lower GI endoscopies, including sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid) and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision - Endoscopic ultrasound (preferred) - Liver biopsy (preferred)- Nearest airports: Pittsburgh or Latrobe.- Lodging provided by the facility.- This facility is a Level 1 trauma center.- Pediatric Level: 0.- Estimated credentialing time frame is 30 days.
