Welding Technician &
Fabricator
in Emporia, Virginia, in both the Railcar Repair and Container Repair teams.
Perform MIG welding tasks with precision and efficiency. Minimum of 2 years of experience in MIG welding.
Welding test will be given.Utilize an oxygen/acetylene (propane) torch for cutting and welding. Experience required.Demonstrate good spatial awareness to effectively interpret and work with blueprints and layouts.Maintain a keen eye for detail to notice any discrepancies or potential issues in the work environment.Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments to maintain precision.Operate hand and power tools to prepare materials for welding.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Ability to use basic hand toolsAbility to constantly use bending, squatting, twisting, and walking motions throughout the entire work shiftMust be able to work independentlyAbility to constantly work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditionsPhysical ability to meet the demands of the job, including heavy lifting and extensive walking.Ability to occasionally climb, using various types of laddersRequirements:Good time management skills.Dependable and willing to work flexible hours.Strong Mechanical backgroundGood problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Strong commitment to workplace safety.Dependable and willing to work flexible hours.Commitment to ongoing learning and development in welding practiceForklift operation experience preferred.
