The Dock Hand is a vital role within our marina or boating facility, responsible for assisting with various tasks related to boat docking, mooring, and customer service. This position ensures the smooth operation of the Marina and a positive experience for boaters and customers.
Responsibilities:
Boat Docking: Assist boaters with docking and mooring boats, ensuring safe and secure positioning.Customer Assistance: Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, offering assistance, and addressing customer needs.Fleet Management: Maintain an organized and efficient system for boat slip assignments and reservations.Boat Fueling: Refuel boats as needed, following safety protocols and proper fueling procedures.Boat Cleaning: Clean boat exteriors and decks upon request or as part of routine maintenance.Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that dock equipment, such as ropes, fenders, and cleats, is in good condition and readily available for use.Safety: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines for boaters and guests, including life jacket regulations and safe docking practices.Marina Upkeep: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized marina environment, including dock areas, walkways, and amenities.Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of trash and debris from designated areas.Emergency Response: Assist with emergency response procedures, such as boat towing or assistance to boaters in distress.Marina Events: Support marina events and activities, including boat shows, races, and recreational events.Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of dock supplies and equipment, reporting shortages or damages.Customer Billing: Assist in billing and collecting fees for boat slips, rentals, or services.Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to marina operations.Boat Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of boats for safety compliance and report any issues to management.Security: Monitor and report any suspicious activities or security concerns to management or security personnel.Assist in Repairs: Provide assistance to maintenance and repair teams as needed.Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in a marina, boating, or customer service role is a plus.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.Knowledge of basic boating and marina operations preferred.Safety-conscious mindset and knowledge of safety procedures.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong work ethic and dedication to providing excellent customer service.Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and outdoor work environments.Benefits:
