The Bus Driver/Facility Worker play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while operating buses efficiently and professionally. The routes provided to the Bus Driver/Facility Worker are pre-determined by the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Directors and are subject to changing depending on need. This role also requires excellent customer service and friendliness when interacting with CTS consumers.

Requirements

High school diploma, or equivalentValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAt least 21 years oldPrevious experience as a shuttle driver, limousine driver, or delivery driver is preferredExcellent communication skills in English and SpanishAbility to provide outstanding customer service in a professional mannerKnowledge of local roads, routes, traffic patterns, traffic laws and regulationsPossess basic maintenance knowledgeAbility to read and follow GPS directions.Ability to drive a vehicle for most of the shift and carry out most maintenance requests when necessary.Bus Driver Responsibilities and Duties

Safely and efficiently operate a shuttle van to transport passengers to and from designated locations.Practice proper time management to complete tasks and keep bus schedule on scheduleProvide excellent customer service by ensuring a comfortable and pleasant experience.Communicate effectively with passengers and guardians to provide information about routes, schedules, and any other relevant details, and addressing their concerns.Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.Assist passengers with disabilities in boarding and exiting the bus as required by law.Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving the CTS van.Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the CTS van.Greet passengers and assist with boarding and disembarking as needed.Ensure passengers are seated safely and secure their belongings.Enforce safety rules and regulations, including the use of seat belts.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to identify any maintenance issues or safety concerns.Resolve simple mechanical problems that may occur unexpectedly.Report any mechanical problems or maintenance needs to the appropriate authorities.Keep the interior and exterior of the bus clean and well-maintained.Respond calmly and effectively in case of emergencies, such as accidents or breakdowns, and follow established emergency procedures.Evacuate passengers safely in emergency situations.Complete required reports, such as incident reports, maintenance logs, and time sheets, accurately and in a timely manner.Report any accidents, incidents, or safety violations to the appropriate authorities.Custodian Responsibilities and Duties

Cleaning and Sanitizing:Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and scrubbing, to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.Disinfect surfaces, equipment, and high-touch areas to prevent the spread of germs and viruses.Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and break roomsWaste Management:Empty trash cans and recycling bins, and dispose of waste in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.Replace trash can liners and ensure proper waste separation.Restroom Maintenance:Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.Floor Care:Clean and maintain various types of flooring, including carpets, tiles, and hardwood.Use appropriate cleaning methods and equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and polishers.Window and Glass Cleaning:Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.Remove streaks and smudges for a clear and polished appearance.Supply Management:Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, including chemicals, cleaning agents, and equipment, as needed.Report inventory levels and request replenishment as necessary.Maintenance and Repairs:Identify and report maintenance and repair needs, such as broken fixtures, leaky faucets, or burnt-out light bulbs.Perform minor repairs or inform the appropriate maintenance personnel.Safety and Security:Ensure the safety and security of the facility by promptly addressing potential hazards, such as spills or loose cords.Lock and secure doors and windows as required.Compliance:Follow established cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and industry-specific regulations.Adhere to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning chemicals.Communication:Report any issues, incidents, or concerns to supervisor.Communicate and coordinate with other cleaning staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.Other responsibilities assigned by supervisor as needed.Communication

Communicate pertinent Consumer and Stakeholder information to other employees/team members to ensure quality of care.Work with a team approach with other employees to ensure efficacy of care for ALL consumers.Report critical concerns and problems to supervisor in a timely manner and actively seek Supervisor's input and assistance to resolving the concern.Follow chain of command when encountering problems or other areas of need and correct problems requested.Solicit and cooperate with assistance of all support staff.Actively participate in an appropriate manner with the decision-making process as "pro-active" team member and cooperate with team's decision.Provide coverage on-site or as assigned by the needs of the agency including community events.Attend staff meetings, planned in-service training and any other regular or assigned meetings.Responsible for any equipment assigned in order to perform duties.Shift variance to meet the needs of the clients, per supervisor approval.Perform other required job duties that the supervisor and/or director require to maintain continuity of care for consumers and profitability for the agency.Participate in 90-day and annual evaluations, and supervisions as required.Must have valid Driver's LicenseCriminal records, fingerprinting, and HCWR check is a prerequisite for employment consideration.Subject to DOT drug testingMust complete all agency initial orientation training and state mandated trainings.CPR-First Aid
