What you need to knowHourly Pay - $32.16Monday Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Full Time (40 hours per week), Temporary Assignment (3-12 months)Located in MesaBenefits Available Medical, Dental, Vision, Term Life, Short-Term DisabilityWhat youll be doingResponsible for reviewing and evaluating building plans and construction documents to ensure they comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards. This position requires extensive knowledge of building codes, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical skills. Its a role that combines technical expertise with a need for effective communication and problem-solving abilities.You will be responsible forPlan Review; Thoroughly examining architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans for compliance with applicable codes and regulations.Code Interpretation; Applying knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and construction standards to assess whether plans meet legal and safety requirements.Coordination; Working closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify code requirements and resolve any issues or discrepancies found during the review process.Reporting; Documenting findings, providing detailed feedback, and recommending approvals or modifications to plans.Mentorship; Provide guidance and training to junior staff.Compliance Enforcement; Ensuring that construction practices adhere to approved plans and codes, which may involve site inspections or follow-up reviews.Other duties as assigned.What skills & experience youll bring to usHigh school diploma or GEDGraduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Technology is highly desirable.Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to considerable (3 - 5 years) building inspection or plans review, which involves the review of construction documents for conformance with construction codes.Certification as a Building Plans Examiner or Building Inspector from International Code Council (ICC) or an accredited organization.American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certificate, Membership in the American and/or Arizona Planning Association is preferred.Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and construction practices.Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Want to apply?
