The Role

We are looking for our first U.S. based Accounting Managerto join our amazing global Controllership team. In this role, you will be the finance owner of an operating subsidiary located in the U.S. where GMV volumes are growing month over month. Therefore, you will be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the U.S. subsidiaries financial accounts.

You will assist in growing our accounting function in the U.S. This includes assisting our controllership team with the consolidated U.S. group audit. You will collaborate with the different departments across the company to ensure accounting policies are aligned with the group and that data is reconciled in a timely manner, in accordance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards.

What you will doOwn the monthly/quarterly/annual close process for our U.S. subsidiaries including variance analysis of key accountsOwn the external audit for our U.S. subsidiaries being the main point of contact with our external auditorsAssist the controllership team in the annual consolidated audit of our U.S. TopCoOwn the accounting policies and technical accounting memos for our U.S. subsidiaries ensuring that they align with our group policies and U.S. GAAPOwn the cash flow and working capital requirements for our U.S. subsidiaries working closely with our group treasury teamPerform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and subsequent analytical analysis of accountsOwn OPEX for U.S. subsidiariesOwn intercompany reconciliations for our U.S. subsidiariesOwn controls and documentation for our U.S. subsidiaries that conform with the Sarbanes Oxley ActSupport the business growth in an organized and controlled way, partnering on operational improvementsManage relationship with third party providers to support U.S. tax filingsParticipating in finance transformation projects and other ad hoc specific projectsSupervising a small teamWhat will you need to succeed?

6+ years of accounting experience with a mix of public accounting and industryBachelor of accounting/finance degree or equivalentExpertise in U.S. GAAPExperience in managing a teamExperience in both technical and operational accountingExperience working on public company audits with external auditorsProven track record of working w/ multi-entity and global organizationsExcellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and fluent in EnglishOrganizational skills and ability to manage deadlinesAnalytical thinker and detailed orientedExcellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skillsEntrepreneurial attitudeAn innovative and enthusiastic individual looking to make an impactGrowth mindset - adapt to the dynamic nature of a fast-paced business - assist with scalable solutions as we navigate projects across the Controllership team to grow the business and improve our processesTech awareness - active interest in technology and automation - we constantly strive to improve and automate our policies so that we operate world-class processes;Availability to travel to our hubsOn top of that, the preferred candidate will have:

As such, this role requires you to be within commuting distance of our Chicago hub.
