A CNC Setup is the process of configuring a computer numerical control (CNC) machine before it can be programmed and operated. This process includes:
Transferring a file: The file is transferred to the machine using the machine's ports.
Adjusting settings: The machine's settings are adjusted using the system input.
Mounting and securing the object. The object is mounted on the worktable and secured with clamps.

Competency Requirements:
Setup/troubleshoot designated equipment/assemblies to required complexity.
Operate and adjust required equipment properly.
Properly use measuring equipment and accurately interpret results.
Understand and apply SPC fundamentals.
Demonstrate effective writing skills regarding appropriate records, reports and procedures.
Demonstrate satisfactory relational skills with regards to communications, cooperative associations and participation in the continuous improvement.
Exhibit knowledge of applicable procedures.
