Job Title: Audio Visual (AV) Technician
Job Summary: The Audio Visual (AV) Technician for conference room setups is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment used in conference rooms. This includes audio systems, video systems, projection equipment, video conferencing systems, control systems, and related peripherals. The technician ensures that all AV equipment functions properly to support presentations, meetings, video conferences, and other events held in conference rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Setup:
Install and set up audiovisual equipment in conference rooms according to specifications and requirements.
Ensure proper placement of microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, cameras, and other AV peripherals for optimal performance.
Configure audiovisual systems and interfaces to integrate with existing technology infrastructure.
Operation and Maintenance:
Operate audiovisual equipment during meetings, presentations, and events to ensure seamless functionality.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal condition, including cleaning, troubleshooting, and repairing as necessary.
Conduct regular inspections and tests of AV systems to identify and address any issues proactively.
Technical Support:
Provide technical support to users before, during, and after meetings or events, including troubleshooting audiovisual equipment and assisting with software or connectivity issues.
Assist users in connecting their devices to AV systems and troubleshoot compatibility issues.
Respond promptly to service requests and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as an Audio Visual Technician or similar role, with specific experience in conference room setups.
Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, displays, video conferencing systems, and control interfaces.
Hands-on experience with industry-leading AV control systems such as Crestron and Extron, including programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) platforms, such as Biamp, for audio system optimization and management.
Strong technical skills in networking, audio processing, video processing, and signal flow.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for AV installation, setup, and maintenance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide technical support to users of varying technical backgrounds.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Certification in relevant AV technologies (e.g., CTS certification) is a plus.
$20 - $30 an hour
Compensation is commensurate with experience
