Position Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will play a critical role in developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs, drive supplier performance, and support the company's overall objectives. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of procurement best practices, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing:
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the supply chain landscape.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation.
2. Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic suppliers/vendors to ensure a reliable and high-quality supply chain.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with strategic suppliers to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement initiatives by conducting QBR's with top critical suppliers and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.
3. Risk Management:
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and operational factors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the strategic sourcing process.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's supply chain resilience and continuity.
4. Continuous Improvement:
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, operations, quality and finance, to understand business requirements and align sourcing strategies with organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.
5. New Product Sourcing:
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Quality teams and drive competitive bids on newly developed products and/or select new supplier partners.
6.Contract Negotiation:
  • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service level agreements. Ensure contracts are comprehensive, compliant, and mitigate potential risks.
7.Forecast Management:
  • Collaborate with the Customer Support and Sales teams to form monthly finished good and service part forecasts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP or CPIM) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement and new product development project management, with a focus on strategic buying in a complex environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies that deliver measurable cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancements.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience negotiating complex contracts and agreements with suppliers across multiple categories and geographies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and drive and own projects to completion.
  • Proficiency in procurement software systems and tools (e.g., QAD, SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

The annual base salary for this position is $75,000.00 - $105,000.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to the base salary this position is eligible for an annual profit-sharing bonus.
