- Modern Electronic Medical Records: Utilize the Epic electronic medical records system to ensure efficient documentation and communication.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for patients with established cancer diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the oncology team, potentially including chemotherapy management.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as scans and blood work, to monitor treatment progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding cancer treatment options, side effects, and supportive care.
- Oversee routine follow-up appointments, ensuring patients receive timely and comprehensive care.
- Manage patient care tasks and communication with the healthcare team to maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in oncology and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Current and active license to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of California (only).
- National certification as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in a specialty relevant to oncology is preferred.
- Experience working in an oncology setting is a plus.
- Current BLS certification (required).
- A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to patients with cancer and their families.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.
