Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a

Semen Processing and Calf Campus (Production) Internship . This temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Laboratory Manager. Compensation is hourly, but no housing or transportation will be provided.

Specific duties and responsibilities of a

Semen Processing Intern

include, but are not limited to:Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.Performing semen quality control evaluations, semen extender preparation, general laboratory maintenance, and administrative tasks.Assisting with research both in-house and potentially offsite.Development and execution of an independent research project is a possibility, but not a requirement.The intern will rotate through multiple departments to develop a deeper understanding of the industry and participate regularly in professional development opportunities tailored towards interns.Specific duties and responsibilities of a

Calf Campus (production) Intern

include, but are not limited to,Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.Cleanse and maintain building, grounds, and equipment.Operate company vehicles, trucks, trailers, and farm equipment.Catch

calves with a halter for routine testing.Perform general livestock care, including feeding, cleaning, moving bulls and steers, health testing, veterinary treatments, and hoof trimming.A

Semen Processing and Calf Campus (Production) Intern's

work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM

2:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs. The intern will spend the majority of their time within the semen processing and research departments. As needed (we anticipate around one day per week, on average), the intern will coordinate with and report to the SSI Calf Campus to assist with that area's needs.
