This is where you can do your best work.Join us at the intersection of saving and sustaining lives—where your purpose accelerates our mission.Your Role at Baxter:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled attorney to join Baxter’s legal team, focusing on digital technology issues for both the enterprise and our consumer-facing products. The role will partner with legal and non-legal team members to serve as a subject matter resource on a range of digital technology issues, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This position will report to Senior Counsel – Cybersecurity & AI.What You'll be Doing:Staying up to date with both U.S. and global regulations and laws on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data governance for both the company and for medical devices to ensure ongoing compliance.Review, draft, and coordinate information security agreements both for Baxter’s customers for medical devices and software-as-a-medical device, as well as for third party agreements with vendors.Provide strategic guidance on how evolving cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data regulations may impact Baxter.Act as a liaison between Baxter’s AI governance committees and business to ensure that AI projects are compliant with evolving regulatory requirements and company policies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Data Governance, Central Product Security, and business stakeholders.Assist and support customer information security questionnaires and inquiries.Provide support for cybersecurity incidents for both the enterprise and Baxter’s connected devices.Support internal cybersecurity training and awareness campaigns.Identify areas of vulnerability and risk and undertake corrective plans to resolve the issues.Be able to act independently and as a self-starter.What You'll Bring:Law degree from a U.S. jurisdiction and active bar membership required.5+ years of professional experience in an international company or in an international law firm in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data management.Experience with information security agreements and/or commercial agreements.Healthcare and medical device experience strongly preferred.Familiarity with artificial intelligence regulatory trends.Experience in cybersecurity incidents.Experience with counseling clients on an international level.Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous legal issues.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proven record in working with others to resolve legal issues in a pragmatic manner and within a complex organization environment.Proven history of proactively identifying and researching legal risks and issues and effectively counseling clients regarding risk mitigation strategies.Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $152,000 to $190,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
