The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team. The role involves comprehensive criminal defense work and strategic case management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and handle a personal caseload.
Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.
Attend pretrial hearings and provide strategic advice post-hearing.
Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, and legal research.
Analyze case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents and case law.
Accumulate additional evidence to bolster clients' cases or counter prosecution arguments.
Prepare clients for depositions and strategize case goals with input from witnesses and experts.
Collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team and contribute to case strategy and management.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in criminal defense.
Proven experience with complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities.
Effective case management and strategic planning skills.
Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal practice.
Education:Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.
Certifications:Active Bar license (CA preferred).
