Our founding principles of honesty, integrity and reliability still guide our business today, and we are a proud community of hands-on problem solvers, committed to shaping the materials applications of the future.What You’ll DoThe Corporate EHS Manager is responsible for the technical and administrative aspects of environmental and safety affairs as it relates to federal, state, and local levels. This position develops, conducts, and coordinates all safety, environmental and industrial hygiene activities, employee meetings and training, injury reporting and investigation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) record keeping. The position is responsible for five sites in the US and one in Canada and regular visits to each site will be required. The Corporate EHS Manager reports directly to the VP of Operations and will have the EHS Coordinators at each plant reporting into them.Assists in preparation of workers compensation claims, conducts periodic audits of the facility to assess compliance with environmental, safety and industrial hygiene regulations.Keeps management apprised of environmental compliance and recommends corrective action, if necessary.Disseminates information to all employees regarding hazardous materials and workplace exposure.Maintains all air, water, and waste permits and submits all data necessary for renewal on a timely basis.Investigates and analyzes incidents to identify causes for remedial action.Develops operating facility environmental, health and safety compliance plans and assists in implementation.Coordinates all inspections by regulatory agencies and prepares periodic survey and information requests.Conducts employee training and provides necessary emergency information to local emergency response agencies.Maintains all required safety and injury records and monthly and annual statistical reports.Completes all environmental survey requests and maintains all Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders.What You’ll NeedTo be successful in this position, you must:Possess a Bachelor of Science degree, ideally in an EHS, Engineering, or a Technical discipline.Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in managing Environmental Health and Safety Compliance in an Industrial/Manufacturing Environment.Be available to travel up to 25% of the time to the five US sites and the one Canadian site.Demonstrate expertise in both knowledge and application of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and OSHA and similar Canadian regulations.Have experience in preparing and submitting permits, compliance reports, and corporate reports.Be able to assist in culture-change initiatives in regards to safety and safe practices.Have lean manufacturing experience and the ability to effectively and cooperatively interface with peers, colleagues, and clients as well as firm leadership.CompensationWe proudly offer robust compensation and benefits packages, including:Competitive pay, commensurate with experience.Heavily subsidized medical and dental plans.Employer-sponsored retirement plan.Company-paid life insurance.Immediate paid vacation and generous holiday time.Family-friendly sick and personal leave policies.The above statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe principal functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.Washington Mills is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to workforce diversity.
