Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships Assistant

to join our

Office of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships

within the Advancement Office.Reporting to the Director, Annual Giving, the Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships Assistant provides a strong foundation for the work of the Office of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships by accurately and efficiently processing and acknowledging contributions as they are received and maintaining accurate constituent and financial records within and beyond the Raiser's Edge database. In addition, this position serves on the front lines of donor relations as our customer service point person.What You'll Do

Answer Philanthropy department phones and serve as customer service lead.Input all incoming individual, corporate, and foundation donations into Raiser's Edge database.Acknowledge all donations under $10,000.Produce monthly revenue reports.Oversee Sustainers program: ensuring monthly donations are charged and following up with lapsed donors each month.Schedule meetings, both internal and external, for Advancement senior leadership, and keep meeting minutes and create agendas as needed.Support planning and execution of webinars, town halls, and other events.Assist in creating and designing presentations and proposals for Advancement colleagues.Coordinate travel logistics and reimbursements for Advancement staff and sponsored guests.Provide administrative support to Chief Advancement Officer and other colleagues as requested.Minimum Qualifications

Prior internship/work experience in an office setting.Some knowledge of graphic design tools and/or enthusiasm for/proficiency in design/visual presentation.Strong written and oral communication skills.Energetic and enthusiastic self-starter.Creativity, curiosity, high energy level, and an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals.Strong decision-making skills, tactful, good listener, willingness to search out answers, ability to recognize when others need to be involved in activities or decisions.Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, set and meet goals and deadlines.Enthusiasm for, and ability to compellingly communicate about, the mission of AAAS and our programs.Ability to thrive in a collaborative and entrepreneurial small-team environment.Application Process

AAAS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance, each subject to the terms of the applicable program.
