Bighorn Airways is seeking a Chief Inspector. Bighorn Airways operates a busy Part 145 MRO, specializing in DHC-8, CASA 212 and Dornier 228 maintenance, and special mission modifications and avionics. This position will also provide oversight over the Part 135 Air Carrier operation. Candidates should be mission-focused and put forth the effort and expertise to provide the highest levels of safety, quality, and reliability. Key areas of responsibility include management of the inspection department, administration of the RII roster and procedures, oversight over vendor approval, and ownership of quality processes and procedures for aircraft maintenance and materials (receiving inspection). This position is also responsible for the CASP program and has continuous direct interaction with senior management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Ensure personnel authorizations for Inspection and Return to Service on CRS Roster and Part 135 RII/ARA listings are updated continually.

Provide direct supervision of delegated inspectors and RII personnel, including currency of authorizations and training requirements.

Assist in determining scope of hidden damage inspection required when aircraft damage is discovered.

Supervise the Receiving Inspection processes and manage Receiving Inspection authorizations.

Provide quality oversight of calibrated tool program and technical publications used in conducting maintenance activities.

Administer vendor audit schedule and approval additions/removal to Approved Vendor List and submit required FAA reports as required.

Maintain awareness of SDR-reportable items for 135 and 145 certificate and submit reports as required when criteria are met.

Assist with GMM and RSM revisions as assigned.

Review Airworthiness Directives for applicability and coordinate AD Master Lists and WinAir updates with DOM/145 Manager, to ensure compliance within required intervals.

Administer the BHA CASP program including assisting in root cause analysis, generating reports, and chairing meetings.

Perform internal audits to ensure regulatory and company procedural compliance, in accordance with IEP audit schedule.

Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment as required.

Education and Experience:

5+ years of aircraft maintenance and supervisory experience.

College degree in related aviation field or equivalent level of applicable industry experience.

Supervisory experience in an Air Carrier and/or Part 145 environment, ideally in a position where procedural development was a responsibility.
