Our Client, a leader in Manufacturing within an FDA regulated environment, is seeking a Captain for their EHS department.The EHS Director has overall accountability for the development, implementation, and overseeing of worker safety and health policy, procedures, and environmental compliance programs at EPIC Enterprises. This position is required to be the resident expert in worker compensation laws, OSHA, industrial workplace requirements, and federal/state/local environmental regulations. They will be the key facility HACCP certification representative.Day to Day:

Manage the safety and health process to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT regulations, and company standards for team members and fleet drivers.Complete annual reviews of each program, including review and updates of plant procedures.As the Safety Committee Chair, you will be responsible for overseeing monthly meetings of department supervisors to review training, updates, near misses, and programs with leadership. Develop, collect, and report performance metrics and regularly brief the senior leadership team on the status of company-wide safety compliance.Track and reduce worker's compensation costs, absenteeism, and turnover by ensuring quality care is provided following incidents involving plant workers and fleet drivers.Review and monitor all accident investigation reports through to completion, including participation in claim reviews, mediations, and hearings.Develop, implement, and enhance assessment, coaching/consulting education/training, and motivation to eliminate and control work-related injuries, illnesses, and damage to company property.Work with supervisors and managers to coordinate efforts of improving safety culture, physical conditions, and practices of the business; report and correct findings as needed.Plan, develop, and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local/state and federal OSHA rules and regulations. Develop and enforce a safety discipline program for new and existing employees.Plan and implement programs to train supervisors and employees in work site safety practices, such as GMP, First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Forklift, DOT, FMCSA, defensive driving, and drug-free workplace policies.Responsible for fleet safety policy administration and investigations.Ensure hazard identification and risk assessments are performed for existing safety.Ensure facility compliance with environmental permits and plans including but not limited to wastewater permit, air permit, storm water permit, SPCC Plan.After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
