Assistant or Associate Professor of Cell Biology

The Department of Biological Sciences at Rutgers University – Newark invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels in the broadly defined field of cellular, molecular, and developmental biology. Successful applicants will contribute to the research capacities in new initiatives focused on host-microbiome axes and/or cytoskeleton/epigenetics/developmental biology in model experimental systems. The successful applicants will join a growing, collaborative environment with access to outstanding infrastructure support including microscopy, genomic, metabolomic, proteomics, and animal facilities within the Rutgers-Newark research ecosystem.Responsibilities:Develop a robust research program that is federally funded.Build a research training environment for student and postdoctoral trainees.Participate in shared governance at Department and University levels.Teach at the undergraduate and graduate educational levels.Qualifications:Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent.Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications and successful grant funding.Commitment to teaching excellence.The successful applicants will be supported by a 9-month (academic year) salary, receive excellent research space, and receive a competitive start-up package for equipment, supplies, and salaries. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2025.
