25082 - 0113 Co Occurring Disorders UnitThis position may have a signing bonus available; a member of the Recruitment Team will confirm eligibility during the interview process.About Our Program:The inpatient Harrington CDU is a 16-bed unit that provides treatment for individuals with mental health issues compounded by substance use. Psychiatric and substance use disorders will be treated by a combination of medication and therapy.Substance abuse treatment includes both detox services and medication-assisted management of opioid addiction. Recovery services will be provided in a safe structured environment.The average stay for our clients is seven to ten days. After discharge, the client will be referred to Harrington outpatient services, including our Partial Hospitalization Program, for the continuation of treatment.GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Mental Health Associate performs a variety of patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal and emotional needs of adult and/or geriatric patients while under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The successful candidate will rotate between the Co-Occurring Disorders Unit in Webster and the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit in Southbridge.WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

2 years experience and/or CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) preferred.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred and certification or equivalent experience required. Receives on-the-job training under close supervision. American Heart Association certification for health care provider required upon hire or during orientation and every two years thereafter.
