Job DescriptionThe Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the overall safety and security of the hotel’s guests, employees, and hotel premises. They work 12-hour night shifts, to be present in the absence of the Security Director. They will be responsible for the Security Service Control Centre and supervision/dispatching of Security Officers. They will act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, coordinating the security response to fire, accident, safety concerns, and calls for medical assistance. The Security Supervisor ensures that any violation of law or hotel policy is investigated and duly addressed.Supervision of Security Control CenterSupervision of Security AgentsAssist in overseeing the safety and security training of all colleagues.Assist in managing the security department’s day-to-day operations.Ensure Emergency Response Coordination.Dispatch and Control Center Alarm Monitoring.Ensure access to the hotel’s various access points are controlled and, if required, staffedEnsure loss prevention protocols are being utilized consistently and routinelyEnsure the systems the security team relies on are functioning and maintained: CCTV, door alarms, panic buttons, etc.Maintain Lost and Found procedures and integrityReview and ensure completion of Daily Security ReportEnsure BEO’s and related security requirements are completed and invoices are tracked and paidAssist with VIP movements when requiredContract Security and Toronto Police ordering and coordination.Ensure score and synergy tickets are accurately completedAudit daily security patrols and deficienciesKnowledgeable in the use of all security equipment, i.e., radios, cameras, printers, computers, and electronic lock systemConvention/Hospitality awareness and security preparation.Assign resources as needed for large events/parties/gala/conventions. Prepare and plan in advance for all major events.Correcting and reporting of fire hazards, health and safety hazardsKnowledge and application of Municipal, Provincial, and Federal statutes with attention to the Trespass to Property Act.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Security & Emergency Management

QualificationsValid First Aid and C.P.R. certificatesValid Ontario Security LicenseFive years’ experience in security and safety of property and people, preferably in a hotelExcellent organization skills, written and oral communication skillsSelf-motivated individual who has strong leadership qualitiesComputer knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPointAvailable to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidaysLaw and Security Diploma or Law Enforcement Certification or comparable working experience
