is seeking an

Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineer

to be based in

Dallas, Texas.This position is expected to begin in May or June 2025.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Provides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.Work under the supervision of a senior project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior-level team members.Utilize basic engineering principles, judgment, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.Perform work with little supervision.Propose approaches to solve new problems.Identify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks.Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.Record field data using tablets and GPS units.Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.Perform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction.Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.Software use includes, but is not limited to: AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Bentley and/or hydraulic modeling packages.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering + none or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationA valid U.S. Driver's License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.Preferred QualificationsProgressive experience with water/wastewater utility planning, modeling, condition assessment, and design.Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).Demonstrated time management skills, work ethic and attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers, and project managers for the preparation of high-quality work products.Ability to communicate and coordinate with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public as may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment, and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn.Detail oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project.Ability to multi-task.Flexible - can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules.Able to work independently.Self-learner.Can take direction from others and in turn can provide guidance to others.Additional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this position.
