The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSOM) is seeking exceptional candidates to join the Pain Medicine faculty. Employment Requirements:
Candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Anesthesiology and an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pain Medicine.
Board Eligibility or Certification in Anesthesiology and Board Eligibility or Certification for Added Qualification in Pain Medicine is required.
Research experience and teaching are desirable but not required.
Job Description:
Pain Specialists should evaluate and treat patients with various acute and chronic pain conditions, including cancer-related pain, spine pain, neuropathic, and musculoskeletal pain.
Expertise in treatment modalities, including medication management, interventional procedures, and referrals to physical therapy and other specialties, is necessary.
Comfort in performing fluoroscopically guided and ultrasound-guided spine and peripheral procedures is required.
Applicants should be comfortable supervising residents, Pain Medicine Fellows, and ARNPs.
Participation in the department's academic activities, including teaching and mentoring trainees, is expected.
Interest in pursuing academic scholarly activities, including research, is desirable.
No calls are expected, focusing on chronic outpatient pain services in clinics affiliated with the University of Miami Health System.
Effort distribution may change based on department needs and candidate’s interests.
Compensation:
Compensation depends on years of experience and determination of professorial rank at the time of hiring.
