Top 5 QualificationsDoctrinal Alignment – In full agreement with CBC’s doctrinal statement and teaching positions.Deacon Qualified – We are looking for someone who is deacon qualified.Desire for formal education, with preference for theological training.Follows the Regulative Principle of Worship – Has the conviction that God is to be worshiped in the manner God has commanded us in His Word.Pastoral – Through song, prayer, and the ordinances, he is to publicly proclaim to and with the congregation the character and works of the triune God of Scripture.Characteristics of the Ideal CandidateAn authentic relationship with Jesus and a desire to follow Him in every aspect of life.Agreement with the philosophy of ministry developed by the elders.A clear calling to worship ministry.An agreement with the beliefs, purpose, and core values of the church.An attitude of servant leadership and a relational aptitude that evidences a genuine love for people.A shepherd’s heart that creates a connection with the body.A humble, teachable spirit that is responsive and eager to learn.An ability to recruit, organize, and develop leaders.An aptitude to organize systems, work with technology, plan, budget, and manage events and projects.A self-starting attitude that identifies, strategizes, and implements what needs to be done.An aptitude for addressing and resolving conflict.A keen ability to self-assess.An ability to engage God’s Word through teaching in an effective, transformational manner.Responsibilities for Shepherding of Worship MinistryDevelop a worship team to assist in carrying out the church’s vision.Schedule and coordinate musicians and team members.Love, shepherd, and guide the worship team.Lead worship about 4 out of 5 Sundays.Lead weekly rehearsals with the worship team.Schedule and lead music ministry meetings as needed.Set vision and direction for the overall worship ministry.Develop procedures and processes and document them in an accessible way.Examine, explore, and evaluate all existing worship ministries.Organize a quarterly worship evening.Work closely with the pastors to create an order of worship and flow for Sunday morning worship.Assist with improving A/V, creative arts, and other service elements.Identify and train both worship leaders and musicians.Help other ministries improve their worship and alignment with the main service.Supervise the worship staff.Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with all ministry areas.AspirationalAs time allows, create worship resources for the broader church.Pulpit supply as needed or planned.Occasional classes and ministry coverage.Expectations and EvaluationThe Worship pastor/leader will regularly attend Sunday morning worship services and priority events. A review of responsibilities and performance will occur annually by the lead pastor and monthly for the first six months.Experience and EducationWe prefer someone with theological training but are only requiring a desire to pursue formal education.How To Apply
