Brooke Charter Schools is a network of four public charter schools, serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. What is the Role?

As a school adjustment counselor or school social worker at Brooke, you provide direct support to individual and small groups of students in the areas of social skills, self-regulation, self-advocacy, etc., and create and implement positive behavioral plans. You also collaborate with colleagues to ensure students receive the support they need and provide crisis intervention for students, which may include risk assessments, safety contracts, and social service interventions. Additionally, you meet with parents to discuss student progress, help refer parents to outside resources as needed, and write and implement IEP goals and conduct functional behavioral assessments and classroom behavioral observations.

Licensed school adjustment counselors/ school social workers will also earn an additional $3,300 stipend for working in a high-need area.

Is This You?

You hold a valid MA DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor license (preferred).

You have extensive knowledge of child development and age-appropriate social and emotional skills.

You believe that great teaching closes the achievement gap and have an unwavering belief in all students’ capabilities.

You are professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.

This is a temporary, one-year position that begins immediately and goes through late June 2025.
