The OpportunityThe Department of Criminal Justice in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for two (2) full-time, 9-month, tenure-earning assistant professor positions to begin Fall 2025. Both positions are located on the main campus. Responsibilities include consistent production of high-quality scholarship, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, participation in the department’s doctoral program, and service provision to the department, college, university, and discipline.Selected candidates will demonstrate an ability to contribute to research and teaching broadly across the criminal justice system. All areas of specialization will be considered as long as the candidate’s core focus relates to the justice/criminal-legal system. All areas of methodological expertise will be considered, as well. Applicants who are ABD and will have their degree by the contract start date are encouraged to apply.Minimum Qualifications:Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in criminal justice or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Terminal J.D. degrees, as well as alternative terminal graduate degrees (Ed.D., Psy.D., Crim.D., etc.) without an accompanying qualifying Ph.D. will not be considered. Candidates who are ABD in criminal justice or a closely related field and who supply convincing evidence that their degree will be conferred by the contract start date will be considered.Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with histories of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and teaching as the instructor of record will receive preference; however, we encourage anyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply.
