Internal Medicine (Endocrinology Division)

is seeking a full-time faculty physician to join our team. Our unique community-based medical school, Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM), is affiliated with six major teaching hospitals, two federal institutions, and over 30 other healthcare institutions. Our medical students, residents, and fellows are exposed to a diverse set of patients, practices, and facilities, providing unparalleled learning opportunities.The faculty member will provide clinical services and contribute to the core Internal Medicine faculty team with duties including:Participating in didactic teaching, journal clubs, clinical case conferences, and other teaching assignments for residents and medical students, as assigned by and in collaboration with the department and BSOM’s academic leadership.Contributing to the division’s clinical/patient care, research, and teaching missions.Clinical teaching and supervision.All faculty members enjoy the opportunity for a balanced practice, combining clinical and private practice through the auspices of

WRIGHT STATE PHYSICIANS (WSP) , the practice plan for WSU BSOM.Minimum Qualifications:MD, DO or MBBS degree.Board Certification in Endocrinology (or Board-Eligible).Ohio Medical License.Federally-issued DEA License.Fellows-in-training are encouraged to apply.Successful candidates will receive offers contingent upon satisfying these requirements prior to their start date.Essential Functions:Academic Teaching & Research (25%):Learner didactics and mentorship, including medical students, residents, and fellows.Ongoing participation with medical student, resident, fellow, and rotation evaluations and related quality improvement projects.Annual participation in the resident recruitment effort.Attendance to assigned committees and meetings.Sponsored research, as awarded and approved, with associated office and administrative time.Grant writing and research administration where relevant and assigned.Clinical Supervision and Patient Care (75%):Community-focused Endocrinology outpatient clinic service, with and without learners.Working Conditions:Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply. Clinical site locations may require local travel.
