University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences Breast Imaging section

. We are seeking a full-time specialized Breast Imaging Radiologist to make a significant impact in the field of Breast Imaging and contribute to a collegial environment that promotes academic and clinical growth. As a faculty member, you will provide clinical services and innovate care delivery, engage in teaching for residents and fellows, expand research programs, and advance quality improvement programs and value initiatives.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should be American Board of Radiology (or equivalent) certified or eligible, Breast Imaging fellowship (or equivalent)-trained in all aspects of clinical breast imaging, and possess outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills. You must have the ability to interpret digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) screening and diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI examinations, and be able to perform core biopsies and preoperative needle localizations using X-ray, ultrasound, and MRI guidance. In addition, the candidate should have a strong academic interest and prior evidence of excellence in education and/or research productivity.

As a faculty member in the Breast Imaging section, you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. The section provides clinical services for the

University Hospital

,

Huntsman Cancer Hospital

, an NCI-designated premier cancer center, and multiple outpatient centers throughout the Wasatch front. You will have access to extensive imaging resources for both clinical work and research, including multiple MRIs with breast MRI biopsy capability, dedicated breast US units with elastography, tomosynthesis-guided biopsy systems, a mobile mammography unit, intraoperative MRI, PET-CT scanners, and innovative breast localization techniques. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET-MRI and 7T MRI, are also available.

Research opportunities abound, with a broad case mix from the sources described above, as well as the world-class unique support provided by the

Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR)

in the Department. UCAIR offers international expertise in imaging sciences, including basic sciences, physics and engineering, MRI research, and CT and PET research. The group is working on breast cancer treatment using MR-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). The University of Utah Health Sciences offers various leadership programs and research training opportunities for faculty members.
