We have an immediate opening for a

Full, Part Time, or On-Call Archaeologist

in our Folsom office with a desire to be part of a close-knit and energetic multidisciplinary environmental team. This individual will work closely with our two Principal archaeologists to become an established and integral part of our Cultural Management Team. We are seeking an individual with a minimum of

5 years’ experience

who will be responsible for leading the cultural resource identification and evaluation efforts associated with projects, including field surveys, archival research, Native American Tribal Government consultation, and cultural report drafting needed to comply with both the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations.Minimum Requirements:Must have completed an archaeological field school.Must have completed a BA or BS in anthropology, archaeology, history, or cultural resource management. An MA is preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in cultural resource management/archaeology, preferably in California, including:Archaeological Field SurveyExtended Phase I Presence/Absence TestingReport Writing (sole author preferred)Native American ConsultationHistorical Groups ConsultationArchival ResearchGPS/GIS data collection and mappingKnowledge of federal and California environmental laws (i.e., Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, NEPA, and CEQA).Experience with public works projects, transportation projects, and/or the Caltrans Section 106 process is preferred.Duties, As Directed:Conducting literature research and record searchesCoordinating Native American consultationLeading archaeological field surveys and preparing site documentationConducting archaeological excavation (testing and data recovery)Writing cultural reports including, but not limited to, Caltrans-formatted cultural reportsWorking with clients, regulatory authorities, and subconsultantsAssisting with the development and implementation of mitigation and monitoring reporting programsFLSA Status:

Competitive salary ranging from $80,000 - $130,000 DOE.Location:

In-person at the Folsom HQ office.
