This position is responsible for teaching, research, administration, and service activities as they relate to the Decatur Family Medicine Residency program and to the FQHC. This position includes outpatient care and inpatient services.Examples of Duties

I. Teaching 45%Supervise resident physicians and medical students in patient care activities at the Family Medicine site and other outpatient settings.Conduct and supervise teaching rounds on hospitalized patients.Participate in education conferences, seminars, and lectures for resident physicians and medical students.Supervise, observe, and evaluate resident physicians and other advanced students in the Family Medicine Program.Responsible for teaching and service activities as they relate to the Decatur Family Medicine Residency program to enhance the quality of the residency program.II. Service (Patient Care) 47.5%Provide direct patient care to own patient panel.Participate in the Family Medicine Faculty Inpatient call.Serve on school-wide, departmental and community committees as requested.Serve on residency program, community, and hospital committees, as assigned.Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities.Provide emergency services to patients as needed including those who are identified as having no primary care physician.Participate in internal or external professional organizations and/or committees as delegated by the Residency Program Director, Medical Director, and FQHC.III. Administration 2.5%Direct and administer clinical and educational activities related to the program as delegated by the Residency Program and Medical Director.IV. Research 5%Devise and carry out research projects of their own design with assistance from other faculty members.Assist Residents and medical students in the development of research projects and help supervise their activities.Qualifications

Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.Must possess an MD or DO degree.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine at time of hire.Graduate of an Accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.Licensed in the State of Illinois or eligible for Illinois licensure at time of hire.Possess a DEA number at time of hire.Experienced with providing services to a multicultural population.
