The Department of Biology at the University of Rochester ( https://www.sas.rochester.edu/bio/ ) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in cell, molecular, and developmental biology at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are seeking outstanding candidates whose research programs address fundamental biological problems and who have demonstrated excellence, originality, and productivity in research. The Department of Biology is a collegial, multidisciplinary department which affords opportunities for intellectual interactions across diverse research disciplines.Research areas in the department include aging, intracellular transport, proteomics, chromatin biology, DNA repair, RNA biochemistry, transposable elements, biological imaging, synthetic biology, development, and evolutionary biology. For this search, all areas of cell, developmental, and molecular biology will be considered. However, candidates whose research programs complement one of the three designated growth areas in the department (quantitative cell biology, aging research, and advanced imaging) are particularly encouraged to apply.Our research and graduate programs are integrated into a world-class life sciences research campus that provides ample opportunities for interactions and collaborations with the adjacent University of Rochester Medical Center. Faculty research is supported by University initiatives including the Institute for Data Science, the University of Rochester Aging Institute, the Center for RNA Biology, the Stem Cell Institute, and the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Research activities across the University are supported by core facilities for imaging, proteomics, metabolomics, genomics, computation, small molecule screening, and flow cytometry.Application materials should be uploaded at
