Job ID: 2775571 | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc.Amazon is looking for world class senior applied scientist to join the AWS Healthcare and Life Science Services team to work on state of the art implementations of biomolecule design workflows. This role is entrusted with developing core machine learning algorithms for AWS customers, to be included in future AWS products. On the AWS Healthcare and Life Science Services Team you will invent, implement, and deploy state of the art machine learning algorithms and systems. You will build prototypes and explore conceptually large scale ML solutions for biomolecule design across different computation platforms. You will interact closely with our customers and with the academic community. You will be at the heart of a growing and exciting focus area for AWS and work with other acclaimed engineers and world famous scientists.The Healthcare and Life Science Services team is a part of the AWS Solutions organization. As a key Applied Scientist, you will design workflows that integrate SOTA AI/ML models with complex biological datasets. You will work closely with a team of other Applied Scientists and Solutions Architects to ensure the algorithms and workflows meet our customers' scientific and business objectives. Your role will also involve working with AWS service teams, to promote the delivery of AI-powered solutions in the field of biomolecule design.A day in the life

You will work with customer scientists, academics, AWS product managers, other AWS scientists, and AWS software development engineers to help customers operate the best solution for AI driven biomolecule design on AWS. You will perform experiments, specify and procure data sets, incorporate commercial and open source models, and push the state of the art in biomolecule design.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experienceExperience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languageExperience with neural deep learning methods and machine learningExperience building and tuning AI powered molecular design workflows, and an up-to-date knowledge of current Biological Foundation Models (both commercial and open sources) available to customers.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of applied research experienceExperience in building speech recognition, machine translation and natural language processing systems (e.g., commercial speech products or government speech projects)Experience with large scale machine learning systems such as profiling and debugging and understanding of system performance and scalabilityExperience fine tuning bioFMs with real world measurements from an iterative, closed loop workflow.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
