POSITION SUMMARY:

To assist and relieve the School Principal of paperwork and impediments so that the School Principal may devote maximum attention to the administration of the school campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Classifies, sorts, and files correspondence or other data;

Collates and assembles printed matter;

Collates statistics;

Compares information or data with other records for verification;

Composes and prepares correspondence;

Computes grades for Honor Roll;

Computes, classifies, and transcribes data;

Coordinates schedules for classified staff;

Duplicates, photocopies, and prints school forms and reports;

Issues timely announcements of upcoming events, deadlines, et cetera via mail, email, and classroom distribution;

Mails report cards, newsletters, progress reports, and other mailings;

Maintains cumulative student records;

Maintains inventory of office supplies;

Maintains office files;

Maintains records required by policy, regulation, law, or good practice;

Makes appointments;

Makes financial deposits;

Manages incoming phone calls;

Proofreads;

Receives and prepares cash for deposit by policy, regulation, or law;

Receives and processes requisitions through Visions Accounting System;

Reconciles staff absences in AESOP;

Registers students;

Supervises Connect Ed;

Supervises the maintenance of a log of school visitors;

Supervises the maintenance of student attendance records;

Tends to the copier by making simple repairs, stocking paper, or calling for repair;

Is required to provide reasonable supervision over all students on school grounds, or engaged in school-sponsored activities;

Updates Power School.

Verifies classified staff weekly hours through timecard system and produces a report for the District Office;

Withdraws students;

· Complies with all rules, regulations, and policies of the Governing Board;

· Other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· Ability to pass a background check and maintain a current Fingerprint Clearance Card.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· Must possess a valid High School diploma or GED;

· One year related experience or training;

· Previous experience in an educational setting preferred.

· Possess a minimum of three years of responsible secretarial experience requiring above average computer, basic accounting, and receptionist skills;

· School district experience is preferred;

· Must be capable of independently performing all responsibilities pertaining to job description;

· May be required to work outside normal working hours.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Computer Skills

– Demonstrated competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing.

Communication Skills

– Ability to read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals. Ability to write general correspondence and speak effectively with others.

Math Ability

– Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

– Ability to interpret an assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms. Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee occasionally will stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee will frequently interact with the public and other staff members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
