has an outstanding opportunity for a

DIALYSIS/PHERESIS TECHNICIAN.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Per Diem

• Rotating/Variable Shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

• Provide front-line dialysis and pheresis services

• Prepare, assemble, operate, and monitor equipment used for dialysis and pheresis treatments

• Prepare dialysis solutions and concentrates

• Participate in quality control on dialysis equipment

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble, prepare, prime, and preset dialysis and pheresis equipment and materials in the dialysis lab and at patient bedside according to nephrology orders

• Maintain current knowledge of operation procedures and maintenance of new equipment

• Reprocess and disinfect hemodialysis equipment per policy and procedure

• Aseptically dispense dialysis solution to include calculating, measuring pre-weight of dry chemicals, and verifying through chemical analysis for accuracy

• Make changes in dialysis composition by compounding any additions

• In coordination with RN, perform bedside plasmapheresis treatment

• Participate in on-call coverage rotation for urgent dialysis set-ups outside laboratory business hours

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate's Degree with emphasis in chemistry, biology, or medical sciences AND two years of experience in a medical laboratory to include one year in a dialysis/pheresis laboratory at the level of Dialysis/Pheresis Technician Trainee OR equivalent education/experience.
