The Integrated Innovation Institute (III) at Carnegie Mellon University continually seeks adjunct professor(s) for courses within the Master of Integrated Innovation for Products & Services (MIIPS) degree. The MIIPS degree is a residential program based in Pittsburgh. This position can accommodate teaching in the evening to work with an instructor's full-time daytime job schedule. Qualified candidates will have previous teaching and work experience related to product development lifecycle, user research, emerging technologies, service design, and additional industries that will enhance the curriculum. Teaching skills should include using assigned textbook readings, case study analyses, group discussions, written assignments, oral presentations, and individual research.Qualifications
Academic RequirementsExperience in teaching and/or working in some of the following areas (experience in all areas is not expected):
Technology/Engineering
IoT software, system, and data architecturesSecure, efficient, and reliable IoT data collectionExtracting information and knowledgeApplying models to IoT systems
Business
Developing and proposing business models within an organization or start-upExpertise consistent with our "engineering, design, business" identityExperience with new product launch & product lifecycles
Design
Designing user service and experience frameworks within varying industriesEvidence of a desire to understand people and their needs betterVisual communication toolsIndustrial Design practices
