is developing a pool of applicants for potential part-time Reference Librarian positions (Up to 17 hours per week). These positions are on continuous recruitment and are filled on an as-needed basis, depending on specific department needs. The Reference Librarian’s main function encompasses a broad spectrum including reference services via in-person, phone, and online chat; collection development; assisting in interlibrary loan; circulation management; troubleshooting basic IT questions; and individualized instruction with library resources.Example of Job Duties:

Public and Reference Services: Answer reference inquiries in a variety of formats, including in-person, email, phone, and online chat.Technical Services: Perform basic ILS circulation functions, contribute to collection development activities, and assist in the administration of interlibrary loan.Information Technology: Respond to basic requests for assistance with printing, scanning, copying, and word processing programs. Help with Blackboard or other online learning platforms.Information Literacy: Instruct students on the use of library resources, including how to locate and evaluate sources.Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Library Science with one (1) or more years of relevant experience working in a Library.Successful Candidate must have or must possess:Knowledge of library servicesAbility to work independently with a minimum of supervision.Substitutions Allowed:Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position and by providing appropriate references. Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an educational setting or academic library providing direct service to students and faculty, preferably at a community college.Experience creating accessible learning materials, such as instructional videos, research guides, and interactive tutorials.Experience with creating both in-person and online educational, cultural, and recreational programming for the college community.Knowledge of Microsoft applications, social media platforms, and web-based communication, such as online chat.Salary:
