Typical Tasks and Duties:
This is a great opportunity for someone starting out and wanting to learn about Land Surveying. You will work directly under a Registered Land Surveyor, gaining experience on all types of boundary surveys from simple to complex, large and small.
Work will involve both residential and commercial properties, including construction, topographic, right-of-way, easements, subdivision plats, CIC plats, and legal descriptions.
Qualification Requirements:
Willingness to learn and grow.
Enthusiasm for the profession.
Education in Land Surveying principles and practices.
2 or more years of field surveying experience preferred.
Proficient with operating Leica GPS, robotic total station, or willingness to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
A valid driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain one.
This position requires the initiative to work independently.
Effective communicator.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Ability to lift equipment or objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
Gather field survey data through the use of conventional surveying and GPS.
Research record information, maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents.
Knowledge of writing and understanding legal descriptions.
May be required to clear vegetation and dig holes.
Learn and follow surveying methods and standards.
