The preferred starting date is September 1st, 2024. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary research team that investigates non-Hermitian light-matter interaction in various domains (quantum, nonlinear, etc.) with potential applications in sensing and laser engineering.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducting research on non-Hermitian optics and nonlinear quantum photonics.Collaborating with faculty and staff on theory development, design of experiments, and interpretation of experimental data.Writing reports and academic papers for publication in relevant journals.Participating in grant writing and seeking funding opportunities.Engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration within the department and with external partners.Assisting in the mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Doctoral degree in a relevant field to optics and photonics (e.g., Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering).Experience in conducting research in the field of optics and photonics, with deep knowledge of optical platforms such as waveguide and fiber optics, optical microrecavities, and semiconductor lasers.Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, Mathematica, or Python.Proficiency in using electromagnetic simulation software packages.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Function
