History Theatre in downtown St. PaulThe Security Guard (part-time) position is responsible for the safety and security of property, personnel, and patrons of the History Theatre by monitoring and patrolling the theater premises and responding to incidents in a calm and professional demeanor at all times. This position is part-time and non-exempt contracted September 2024 - June 2025 with possible extension. Compensation for this position is $20 per hour.The typical schedule for this role will vary based on the dynamic schedule of a theater but will primarily be afternoons and evenings, with some daytime hours.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform security patrols during shift to ensure the protection of property from trespassing, vandalism, and other security-related incidents, reporting any unlawful or suspicious activity through established company procedures.Monitor access to premises and property including staff, artists, visitors, and patrons.Resolve situations calmly with tact and common sense - including, but not limited to warning, apprehension and/or eviction of violators from premises if warranted. Duties include notifying the appropriate municipal departments (e.g. fire, police, emergency responders) when necessary.Provide exceptional customer service to History Theatre patrons. Take every possible step to ensure that customers have a positive experience.Work with Front of House staff to assist patrons, visitors, and staff in public areas, such as answering general questions, and crowd control.Other duties as needed or assigned, pertaining to building safety and maintenance.QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience working in a Security role, or a combination of equivalent experience and training.Ability to demonstrate good judgment under pressure or in stressful situations.Ability to work both independently as well as with a team.Willingness to contribute to a positive visitor experience.Experience, ability, and commitment to working with individuals and teams that are mixed across lines of difference such as race, gender-identity, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class, and immigrant status.Must be willing and able to work flexible hours/days, including evenings and weekends, reflective of the dynamic schedule of the theater.Must have a reliable mode of transportation to downtown Saint Paul.Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time, patrol stairwells and interior/exterior of building, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.Competitive pay and benefits package include:

Position to begin late September 2024 and be contracted through June 8, 2025 with possible extension. 16-20 hours a week during performance weeks, primarily Thursday-Sundays. Free parking in downtown Saint Paul or 50% reimbursement for Metro Pass. Complimentary tickets.TO APPLY:
