We are seeking Histology Professionals to join the LabCorp team where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory services. Please note, you will need to provide official sealed transcripts as well as documentation for any applicable certification to secure employment with LabCorp.Schedule : Monday -Thursday 9PM-5:30AMResponsibilitiesProcess human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimensSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slidePerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sectionsProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining proceduresProperly orient and embed surgical tissue specimensPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special proceduresReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient careOperate and maintain manual and automated instrumentsPerform and document equipment maintenance as neededRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresAdhere to the laboratory's quality control policiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reportingDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions when neededRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent is requiredAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferredASCP Histology certification or equivalent is preferredAbility to meet CLIA requirementsExperience with routine histology procedures and equipmentImmunohistochemistry experience is a plusComfortability embedding both large and small specimensAbility to accurately read all labels and documentsAbility to work independently within a team and strong attention to detailExperience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirableFamiliarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocolPay Range: $28.53- $43.60If you're looking for a career that offers opportunities for growth, continual development, professional challenge and the chance to make a real difference, apply today!
