The opportunity to teach with Douglass Residential College is an opportunity to teach within the Department of Women's and Gender Studies where the course is housed. The course is foundational for all students at Douglass and is a requirement for students who enroll in the College.Responsibilities:Teach one 3.0 undergraduate course, Knowledge and Power: Issues in Women's Leadership.Meet all course times/dates.Attend 1 orientation, 2 required workshops, 4 required plenaries, and 1 breakfast.Plan and prepare lessons.Grade assignments within 48 hours and return the grades with comments and rubrics to students via Sakai or related platform.Meet with the assigned student mentor, the Barbara Voorhees Mentor, as needed.Meet with students enrolled in the course as needed.Adhere to the common syllabus and post it on Canvas before your first class meeting.Adhere to course, department, college, and university procedures.Maintain up-to-date grades and records on Canvas for student access.Submit midterm warning grades by the published deadline.Submit final grades to the Assistant Dean and/or Douglass Course Director via email and to the University via REGIS 48 hours after your class ends.Collaborate with Douglass Residential College and the Department of Women's and Gender Studies as needed.Minimum Education and Experience:*Master's degree and expertise in Women's and Gender Studies or closely related field.*Commitment to or experience in Women's and Gender Studies and the status of women.*2-3 years of university level teaching experience including syllabus development and community building within and beyond the classroom setting.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*Experience teaching in a women's college preferred. Experience working with students in a community building environment with student programming preferred.
