is seeking a Materials Scientist to join our team. This role is part of the R&D materials testing lab and works closely with the R&D department, quality, sales, and production to provide materials analysis and technical expertise.What You'll Do:Perform routine and specialized materials testing for short and medium-term projects and analytical requests.Develop test methods and processes as necessary.Assist Research Scientists with ongoing product development activities.Use product and testing expertise to collaborate with internal and external customers to determine root causes in product development and quality problems.Continuous training on the various analytical techniques and methods.What We Seek:Bachelor's degree in materials science or related field.Familiarity with lab environment and understanding of laboratory procedures and methods.An inquiring mind, a team player, and strong communication skills.Carbon, graphite and/or ceramic materials experience/understanding is desired.Computer skills related to data analysis, word processing, and image processing.SEM, EDS and optical microscope experience a plus. Thermal analysis, XRD, Raman, acoustic resonance, physical properties testing.Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel, either individually or as a team member. Perform duties in a safe manner, observe approved safety procedures, and communicate potential hazards immediately to supervisor or EHS. Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and goals. Candidate must have the capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control law.Outstanding Candidates Will Have:Tests and analyzes R&D samples, manufactured materials, and customer samples when needed and in a timely manner.Confers with technicians, R&D scientists, and manufacturing personnel regarding results and research, prepares technical reports and presentations.Good communication and coordination abilities and presentation skills.Ability to conduct projects independently and navigate ambiguity.Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely.Ability to learn and become proficient with a variety of analytical techniques.What We Offer:At Entegris, we invest in providing opportunity to our employees and promote from within.
